The fly is nameless, there are a few nicknames in general we call the fly "Das Möhrchen" means "the carrot", because there is a lot of orange in it ..Could also be named as "The Dutch" Oranje ...
This variation is tied by my friend Fränki, in his opinion this is the original version (but i disagree ). But it shows that variations are possible and they catch fish too!
The guy who gave us the tying instructions/introduced us to this fly. He died much to young 7 years ago (his name was Ralf, that's why This is the other name of the Fly "Ralf Fliege"). He told us, that the fly is a shrimp imitation .. ok.. very strange imitation .. and a cracker for seatrout fishing .. shore fishing in Denmark and Germany. The last statement is absolute true!! I caught so many seatrouts with this fly!! Also big ones ( despite the picture with the catch ). I also use this fly in every sort of weather and water conditions .. cold .. warm, gin clear water or dusty. I don't believe in the "rules" that you have to use in the wintertime and early spring provocative patterns and in late springtime, summer and autumn very realistic imitations .. what you need is a fly with your full confidence! Like always
Tying instructions are very, very, very simple .. first the material:

- Hook .. on picture nr 1 is a Mustard Saltwater Hook guess size 6 or 4 .. can't recommend that hook. My recommendation is a Kamasan B800 also B820 size 6 ...a fantastic hook for streamers! It is not a saltwater hook, but the water of the Baltic Sea is more brackish and if you clean the fished flies in sweet water, they will do their job for a long time.
- Tying thread .. whatever you prefer .. the color .. who cares!
- Lead .. is a fine lead wire.
- Monofil .. 14/100 for ribbing (normally I prefer a material, which is called Stretch Magic in 0.5 mm thickness .. also usefully for legs .. try a google search or follow that link: GlobalFlyfisher
- Hackle .. a cheap beige Chinese cock hackle ( white or grizzly will be work quite well ).
- Medium sized chenille in orange and yellow.
- Some crystal flash if you like.
Tying instructions:
Step 1.

1. My sea trout streamers are always weighted .. that's influenced by Bernd Ziesche .. don't know anyone, who has more experiences in sea trout fishing (shore fishing). His explanation is, that especially waves bring your fly line, leader and at last your fly up! .. and you could be the best caster in the world, if there are waves .. always good conditions for sea trout .. your fly don't fish in 40, in 30, in 20 m, if there is no weight to reach the sea trout`s hunting ground. Second the fly swims horizontal .. it looks much more "fishy" for me.
Step 2.

2. Tie in a nice bunch of orange fox. (Also calf tail in red or orange works quite well).
Step 3.

3. Than a the monofil for the ribbing .. secured with a small knot.
Stap 4.

4. The hackle .. as you can see .. I pulled off half of the fibers .. fishing in the see is most of the time like Stillwater fishing and a sparse hackle works much more than a fly, which looks like a "Worst".
Step 5.

5. Orange chenille .. add some super glue to the hook shank and wind the chenille to the mid of the hook shank.
Step 6.

6. Tie in the yellow chenille .. add some super glue .. tie through the hook eye
Step 7.

7. wind on the hackle to the hook eye with the convex, shiny side to the hook eye.
Step 8.

8. Secure the hackle with the monofil.
Step 9.

9. Crystal flash as eye catcher, varnish and the fly is ready for action
Step 10.

10. A variation..
